Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of shashwat.wtf, including its pages, writing, free tools and any sessions offered through it (together, the "Site"). The Site is run by Shashwat Gupta in his personal capacity ("I", "me", "my"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

1. Information only, not advice

Everything on the Site, including posts, tools, emails and any other communication from me, is general information based on my own experience and opinion. It is not legal, immigration, visa, admissions, financial, tax, career, medical or any other professional advice, and it does not create any professional, advisory, agency or fiduciary relationship.

Rules, fees, deadlines and requirements for studying, working or living in Japan (including those of language schools, universities, employers, the Immigration Services Agency of Japan and the Embassy of Japan) change often. Always confirm details with the official source before you act. You alone are responsible for your decisions and their results.

2. No guarantees

I don't guarantee any outcome, including admission to any school or university, a visa, a job, exam results, savings or any other result. Mentions of schools, programmes, companies or people are for information only and are not endorsements or recommendations.

3. The Site is provided "as is"

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors, viruses or other harmful components. I may change, suspend or remove any part of the Site at any time, without notice.

4. Free tools

Tools listed on the Site are free, experimental and provided "as is". You use them at your own risk and are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything you enter into them. Some tools run on their own pages or subdomains and may have their own terms, which apply in addition to these.

5. Age

The Site is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please use it only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Site for anything unlawful, misleading or harmful;
  • try to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its dashboard, servers or accounts, or test its security without my written permission;
  • disrupt or overload the Site, or use bots or scrapers in a way that affects it;
  • copy, republish or sell the Site's content beyond what section 7 allows.

7. Content and copyright

The writing, design, code and other material on the Site belong to me unless stated otherwise. You may quote short parts with credit and a link back. Anything more needs my written permission.

8. Other websites and services

The Site links to and uses third-party websites and services (for example booking, analytics, hosting and the other sites I run). I don't control them and I'm not responsible for their content, policies, availability or actions. Using them is at your own risk and under their terms.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • I will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive loss or damage, or for any loss of profits, income, savings, opportunity, admission, visa, employment, data, goodwill or reputation, arising from or related to the Site, your use of it, or any reliance on it, however caused and even if I was told it was possible.
  • My total liability for all claims of any kind relating to the Site is limited to the amount you actually paid me for the specific paid session the claim relates to (if any). For free parts of the Site, including the writing and tools, my liability is nil.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited, such as liability for fraud, or your non-waivable rights as a consumer under Indian law.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold me harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use or misuse of the Site, your decisions based on it, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or anyone else's rights.

11. Events outside my control

I'm not responsible for any delay or failure caused by events beyond my reasonable control, including outages of hosting, internet or third-party services, cyberattacks, natural events, or government action.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a concern, please email me first so we can try to resolve it informally within 30 days. Any dispute that can't be resolved this way will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Gurugram, Haryana, India.

13. General

  • If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
  • If I don't enforce a right, I haven't given it up.
  • These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and me about the Site.
  • I may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the Site means you accept it.
